Since the beginning of 2020, Global Law Office (GLO) has welcomed 6 new partners to join the firm. They are Ruby (Yubing) Shao who joined our Beijing office, Michael (Yi) Chen, Catherine (Cuihong) Song and Tim (Yimin) Liu who joined our Shanghai office, as well as Eric (Jieyi) Chen and Yang Zhang who joined our Shenzhen office.

These 6 partners and their teams have been engaged in various practices for many years with extensive experience which include capital market, merger and acquisition, investment and financing, bankruptcy and restructure, dispute resolution, private equity investment fund, finance and banking, tax and real estate with extensive experiences in handling domestic and international projects. Not only do they have profound technical expertise, but they also have rich practical experience. Their joining further embodies the purpose of "serving domestic and foreign clients with globalized vision, globalized team and globalized quality". Ruby (Yubing) Shao
Ruby (Yubing) Shao joined GLO as a partner in Beijing office. Ruby specialises in private equity investment fund, merger and acquisition, tax and capital markets. She has also been involved in various industries such as consumer goods, real estate, education, high technology, energy, resources, Internet, telecommunications, manufacturing, commercial retail, media, infrastructure, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, etc. Ruby used to work in Gaorong Capital from 2015 to 2020. She once worked in GLO in 2009. Prior to joining GLO, Ruby worked for a leading law firm in Singapore and engaged in capital market and investment business.

Shanghai office:
 
Michael (Yi) Chen
Michael (Yi) Chen joined GLO as a partner in Shanghai office. He has particular expertise in transport, private equity investment fund, merger and acquisition, entertainment and sport and capital market. He has been engaged in legal advising field as an adviser and lawyer for more than twenty years. Prior to joining GLO, he worked with a UK and a PRC leading law firm for more than a decade.
 
Catherine (Cuihong) Song
Catherine (Cuihong) Song joined GLO as a partner in Shanghai office. She practices primarily cover real estate, logistics and warehousing, cross border acquisitions, foreign direct investment and banking and finance. Industries in which she has been involved include real estate, logistics and warehousing, commercial retail and banking, etc. Prior to joining GLO, she worked with a top American law firm and its associated firm in PRC. She also worked in Hong Kong for several years, which enriched her a lot of working experience.
 
Tim (Yimin) Liu
Tim (Yimin) Liu joined GLO as a partner in Shanghai office. He focuses on cross-border legal practices, and his cases are from various jurisdictions such as the USA, China, the UK, the UAE (DIFC and ADGM), the KSA, Qatar, Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Kazakhstan, ASEAN, India, Australia and New Zealand. Tim works on the matters such as cross border litigation, international commercial arbitration and mediation, recognition and enforcement of awards, setting aside awards, and petition of rejecting enforcement of awards before state courts.  He was also involved in cross border bankruptcy and assets recovery in foreign jurisdictions. Tim has been practicing law from 2002. Prior to joining GLO, he worked with leading US, UK and Japanese law firms, and a top IT professional consulting firm as in-house legal counsel / director on complex digital and capital deals. Tim is admitted in P. R. China, DC, NY, DIFC Court, and AIFC Court. Tim also hold fellowship with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrator (UK), Prime Dispute (UK), AMINZ, MIArb and KFCRI.

Shenzhen office:
 
Eric (Jieyi) Chen
Eric (Jieyi) Chen joined GLO as a partner in Shenzhen office. He specialises in M&A, PE/VC, bankruptcy and restructure, litigation and arbitration (corporate and finance), etc., with special expertise in handling legal affairs for clients from finance, real estate, internet, biomedicine, environmental protection, technology industries. Eric has provided high-quality legal services for lots of top domestic and international financial institutions, internet enterprises, state-owned enterprises and listed companies. He has combined experience in financial transactions and dispute resolution. His rich dispute resolution experience provides the cutting-edge judicial practice basis for due diligence, transaction structure design, transaction document drafting, and commercial negotiation in the projects of major mergers and acquisitions, and investment and financing; his experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment and financing projects also provides a strong support to the industry background and transaction habits for the settlement of commercial disputes related to corporate and financing. Prior to joining GLO, Eric worked with several PRC leading law firms for many years.
 
Yang Zhang
Yang Zhang joined GLO as a partner in Shenzhen office. She specialises in private equity investment fund, finance and banking, insurance fund utilization, and mergers and acquisitions. Yang has provided legal services to many renowned investment institutions and financial institutions in the areas including but not limited to private equity fund formation, structured financing, investment, mergers and acquisitions, and asset securitization, and she also assisted various institutions in investing and financing real estate, information technology, finance, new infrastructure and other industries. In addition, Yang has also provided legal services to many financial institutions on compliance and corporate governance matters. Prior to joining GLO, she worked with a PRC leading law firm and a large financial group.
