WIPO Names Meph Jia Gui Arbitrator
2013-12-19

Recently, Meph Jia Gui of GLO was selected as an arbitrator by the Arbitration and Mediation Center ("Center") of the World Intellectual Property Organization ("WIPO").

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center was established in 1994 to offer arbitration and mediation services for the resolution of international intellectual property ("IP") disputes between private parties. As the WIPO's dispute resolution institute, the Center is responsible for arbitrating and mediating IP disputes between multinational corporations, such as disputes involving patent license, software license, drug distribution agreements, R&D contracts, patent infringements, trademark coexistence agreements, copyright, art sales agreements, and entertainment products contracts, etc. Currently, there are only a few Chinese WIPO arbitrators, most of whom are famous law school professors. Meph Jia Gui is one of the very few Chinese WIPO arbitrators admitted to practice laws.

The IP Practice of GLO  covers contentious and non-contentious legal service across a broad spectrum of IP types, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, domain name, e-Commerce, unfair competition, etc. Their IP Practice areas include IP due diligence, strategic consultancy and planning for IP protection, IP litigation, WIPO IP arbitration, IP transactions, IP financing and pledge, brand protection & anti-counterfeiting strategy, etc. As Meph Jia Gui became an arbitrator of WIPO's Arbitration and Mediation Center,GLO's IP and Arbitration Practice will be further bolstered.
