In the last few months, Global Law Office (GLO) has welcomed 8 new partners and their teams to join the firm. The newly joined partners include Yuanyuan Qian who joins in Beijing; Guangming LiuLei NiuJin Xiang and Tong Zhang who join in Shanghai, and Lujun HouLaixiang Li and Yongpan Sheng who join in Shenzhen.

 

The joining of these 8 partners and their teams has further enhanced our practices’ abilities as a leading comprehensive law firm. Beijing

Yuanyuan Qian has considerable experience in dispute resolution and compliance issues concerning asset management, NPLs disposal, corporate governance and capital market etc. Yuanyuan is familiar with court’s work process and judicial decision making, and has a deep understanding of commercial logic and clients’ demands behind transactions or cases. She has worked for commercial banks, trust companies, securities companies, private equity funds and other financial institutions or organizations, as well as entities in high-tech, big data, Internet, medical industries to design efficient litigation strategies and transaction plans from the clients’ perspective and assist clients to achieve their commercial objectives to the utmost extent.

 

Shanghai

Guangming Liu specialises in Intellectual Property, Dispute Resolution and general corporate work. Guangming has been advising plenty of domestic and international clients on a variety of legal issues related to intellectual property. He has extensive experiences in registration, management, transaction and protection of intellectual property as well as dispute resolution for complicated intellectual property cases. Guangming has successfully dealt with lots of trademark cases related to application for registration, opposition, assignment, dispute and infringement. His practice also includes areas of copyright, anti-unfair competition, domain name and entertainment-media. In addition, Guangming also provides legal services related to foreign investment as well as various general corporate matters.

 

Lei Niu specialises in Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property, Compliance & Risk Control, Debt restructuring & Corporate Liquidation/Bankruptcy, Shipping, Real Estate & Construction. Lei has extensive experience in the field of Dispute Resolution, as listed arbitrator or mediator in many arbitration committees. He has represented many of the world’s leading multinational companies and international financial institutions regarding a large number of international commercial arbitration cases. Lei is also a litigator and has represented clients before China’s Supreme People’s Court (SPC) and courts at various levels. A retrial case instituted through the adjudicatory supervision procedure which Lei won before the SPC was selected by the Court as one of the “Ten Model Cases of the Supreme People’s Court in 2016”.

 

Shirley Xiang specialises in capital market (domestic and overseas), private equity investment & financing, M&A, and insurance fund management. Shirley has rich experience in assisting Chinese companies’ restructuring and public offerings matters, organizing and assisting multinational corporations on their domestic and overseas IPOs, acquisitions, as well as assisting listed companies regarding their major restructuring and refinancing projects. Her expertise also covers a diverse range of industries and sectors which include life science, semiconductor, automobile, hi-tech manufacture, etc.

 

James Zhang specialises in PE/VC transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and different corporate matters. James advises on all phases of corporate transactions of the enterprises in different growth periods. He has extensive experiences in a wide range of business sectors, including pharmaceutical and healthcare, telecom and media, advertising and broadcasting, financial services (fund/asset management, insurance, securities and trusts) and real estate. Some of his prior cases also promoted the development of China’s legal system, which directly contributed to the promulgation of new regulations.

 

Shenzhen

Henry Hou specialises in international banking and financing, cross-border investment and mergers and acquisitions, private fund investment, and cross-border dispute resolution. Henry provides professional legal services for many Chinese and foreign banks in connection with export credit, project financing, M&A loans, syndicated loans, trade financing and general banking services. Joseph Li specialises in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate. Joseph regularly advises issuers and underwriters in stock and bond issuing on foreign and domestic capital markets. Representative works include IPOs or bond issue of Tencent Music Entertainment Group (NYSE: TME), DouYu (NYSE: DOYU), Sunlands (NYSE: STG) and etc. In the area of transaction, Joseph specializes in managing sophisticated cross-border M&A deals, and has advised over 100 VC/PE deals for investment funds or startups covering biotech, TMT, education and many other industries. Joseph also advise clients on matters related to non-profit organizations.

 

Yongpan Sheng specialises in intellectual property (IP), including IP commercialization and licensing, IP protection, IP management and dispute resolution, as well as domestic and foreign applications for patents and trademarks. Yongpan has extensive experience in IP dispute resolution, especially in the fields of patents, trademarks and trade secrets. He is an expert in formulating IP application strategies and rights protection strategies, and representing clients in IPR administrative confirmation cases before the Patent Reexamination Board and the Trademark Review Board.
