On March 30, 2026, the Republic of Slovenia ("Slovenia") successfully issued Renminbi-denominated bonds in a principal amount of RMB 4 billion on China's interbank bond market, with a three-year tenor and a coupon rate of 1.89%. Bank of China Limited acted as the lead underwriter. China Construction Bank Corporation, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, The Export-Import Bank of China and HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited served as joint lead underwriters.
This marks Slovenia's debut on the Panda Bond market, making Slovenia the first Central and Eastern European country in the euro area to issue Panda Bonds. The successful issuance is a landmark achievement in financial cooperation between China and Slovenia, and a vivid example of growing practical financial cooperation between China and European countries.
