Ziyu Wu focuses on litigation and arbitration, corporate governance, compliance and risk management, international trade, and maritime and admiralty law. She regularly advises clients in the energy, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, import and export, and shipping sectors, and serves as ongoing legal counsel to state-owned enterprises and other well-established companies.
In the area of dispute resolution, Ziyu Wu has been involved in numerous litigation matters heard before Intermediate People’s Courts, Higher People’s Courts, and the Supreme People’s Court across multiple provinces in China, as well as arbitration proceedings administered by the China Maritime Arbitration Commission (CMAC), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC). The disputes in which Ziyu Wu has been involved include sale of goods disputes, charterparty disputes, carriage/transportation disputes, technology licensing disputes, tort liability disputes, equity repurchase disputes, and antitrust disputes.
Ziyu Wu has, for several consecutive years, contributed the China chapter on Shipping Law to Lexology In-Depth. She has also co-authored a number of practice-oriented publications, including Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Court Judgments and Arbitral Awards, Regulation of Controlling Shareholders and De Facto Controllers under the New Company Law: A Justiciability Perspective, and Revisiting Contract Fraud and Apparent Authority in Civil-Criminal Overlap Cases.
Matters in which Ziyu Wu has been involved have received recognition at the China Outbound Deal Awards (Latin America) issued by China Business Law Journal. In addition, she is listed as a candidate in the Beijing Lawyers Association’s Foreign-Related Legal Talent Pool.
