Haoyang (Jerry) Shen is an of counsel at Global Law Office and is based in Shanghai, China. His primary practice areas include private equity, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), foreign direct investment (FDI), outbound direct investment (ODI), and general corporate matters.

In private equity, Jerry has represented leading domestic and international investment institutions in a significant number of transactions, including Advent International, SoftBank Vision Fund, Eight Roads, Blackstone Group, Cathay Capital, TPG Capital Asia, SenseTime, Hillhouse, and Boyu Capital. He has also represented multiple start-ups, providing full-service legal support regarding their corporate restructuring, equity financing, reorganization, employee stock ownership plans (ESOP), and public listings, as well as advising on their overseas business expansion.

In foreign direct investment and cross-border M&A, Jerry has provided legal support to numerous domestic and multinational corporations such as Micron Technology, Yanfeng International, Spirit AeroSystems, NIO, Inc., Ant Group, and LyondellBasell. His experience covers investment, M&A, and restructuring projects across various industries, including automotive, energy, aviation, and pharmaceuticals.

Jerry also has provided general corporate support to clients including Ant Group, Alibaba Cloud, Starbucks, Max Mara, and Coty Inc., with a focus on commercial contracts and corporate legal work.

Jerry joined Global Law Office in early 2025. Prior to joining Global Law Office, he worked for Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, Fangda Partners, and King & Wood Mallesons.
