Being a partner with Global Law Office who is based in Shanghai, Mr. Yu has long focused his practice on the areas of foreign direct investment (FDI), mergers and acquisitions (M&As), private equity/venture capital, fund formation, cross-border technology transfer and other general corporate matters. Before joining us, Mr. Yu had ten-year experience with leading international and domestic law firms and gained extensive experience in representing multinational corporations, state-owned enterprises and private companies on their inbound/outbound investments, M&As and restructuring transactions. The legal services rendered by him typically include, among others, structuring the transactions, conducting due diligence, drafting, reviewing and negotiating documents, issuing legal or advisory opinions as well as assisting with the closing matters and completion of government approval procedures.

The projects that Mr. Yu has been involved in encompass a wide spectrum of industries, including machinery, chemical, logistics, TMT (Technology, Media and Telecom), fintech, consumer staples, environment service, pharmaceuticals/healthcare, clean energy, commercial property, entertainment, education and tourism. The clients he served include financial investors such as the Carlyle Group, Bain Capital, SBCVC, CITIC Capital, IDG, Sequoia Capital, Matrix, Innovation Works, SIG, Northern Light Venture Capital, Shunwei, YF Capital, CMC Capital, Greenwoods, Trust Bridge, Ping An Ventures, Arena Capital, Loyal Valley Innovation Capital, Yunqi Partners and WestSummit Capital as well as industrial giants such as Tencent, JD.com, Xiaomi, Fosun, HUPU Sports, Ximalaya.com, Bilibili, Cisco, Dow Chemical, Visa, PepsiCo, PVM, Total Group, Caterpillar, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ),Cooper Tire, POSCO, Citibank, Marks & Spencer (M&S), Wuhan Iron & Steel (Wisco), Sinochem, Shanghai Electric and Shanghai GM.  Mr. Yu was also retained by the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination to prepare various sponsorship agreements and attend the relevant negotiation secessions for the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
